Privacy policy
Your data, and what we do with it
Last updated: 15 July 2026
ChargeGuard UK is an independent product in development. This policy covers only this website and its waiting-list. The app doesn't exist yet. It's written to be short and honest, and we'll expand it before any app launches.
What we collect
- If you join the list: your email address, and optionally your first name and main driving area.
- If you answer the poll or survey:your answers. These aren't linked to your identity. A random, anonymous id in your browser lets us group responses from the same visit.
- Basic technical context:your browser's user-agent and the page that referred you, plus privacy-focused analytics (via PostHog) to understand how the page is used.
We never ask for, see, or store your card details or your vehicle number plate on this site.
Why we collect it
To gauge whether ChargeGuard is worth building, and, only with your consent, to email you launch updates and testing invites. Your consent is the legal basis for those emails; our legitimate interest in validating the idea is the basis for the anonymous poll, survey and analytics.
How long we keep it
Until we decide whether to build ChargeGuard, or until you ask us to delete it or unsubscribe, whichever comes first. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email hello@chargeguard.uk.
Who we share with
No one, beyond the tools that run this page on our behalf: our database and email/analytics providers. We don't sell your data.
